BRAD HATFIELD AND GAYE TOLAN HATFIELD RELEASE 2 NEW ALBUMS “STRAIGHT UP: JAZZ AND COCKTAILS, VOL. 9 AND VOL. 10”

Emmy Award-winning composers Brad Hatfield and Gaye Tolan Hatfield have expanded their "Straight Up: Jazz and Cocktails" series with two fresh albums, offering an evocative blend of bluesy, mood-setting jazz. Recorded in Massachusetts and Florida, the albums showcase a lineup of seasoned jazz artists, including Bob Bowlby on saxophones, Sonny Barbato on accordion, Christine Fawson and Scott Dickinson on trumpet, John Wilkins and Justin Canavan on guitars, Marty Ballou and David Einhorn on bass, Marty Richards and Hosny Franck on drums, and Brad Hatfield himself on piano. They also feature compositions by John Patitucci and Adam Feldman.

Both albums, while sharing similar songs, offer unique treatments from the variety of performers. Volume 9 features piano, vibes, and accordion as lead instruments, while Volume 10 highlights the trumpet, sax, and guitar.

Marking the 9th and 10th releases in this sophisticated background jazz collection, the albums were written and recorded specifically for use in Film/TV. Songs from the series have enjoyed hundreds of placements over the years because of the musical integrity, dialogue-friendly mixes and performances, and the ability to move forward in the mix when needed.
